Apple Pie

 

Ingredients:-

For the Dough:-

2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour,

1/2 teaspoon salt,

1/2 cup of chilled water,

1 cup butter chilled and diced.

Method:-

(My way to make the dough)

Pre-heat the oven at 218 C. Mix the flour and the salt, then add the butter and mix again, turn it into a dough by adding the chilled water and mixing it into a food processor. then wrap the dough into a piece of plastic  and refrigerate it for 4 hours.Sprinkle some flour on the surface. take out the dough and separate it into two balls. Then roll them one by one. Cover the pie dish with 1 part of the dough.Put the other part of the dough aside and start making the filling for your Apple Pie.

For the Filling:-

3 or 4 apples, sliced and peeled,

2 tablespoon Lemon juice,

3/4 cup sugar,

1/4 cup of all-purpose flour,

2 tablespoon butter,

1 egg yolk,

1 tablespoon milk.

Method:-

In a large bowl, mix the apples with lemon juice, then combine flour and sugar, toss the apples in it to coat them.(You can also add Apple Jam). Fill the covered pie dish with Apple Mixture. Again cover the pie with the dough, then cut slits on the upper dough to vent. beat the egg yolk and brush it on the pie. Press the corners of the dough to join them and put it in the oven for 15 minutes. then reduce the heat to 176 C for 40-45 minutes more or until the pie is golden.
